How we are doing our bit to support other small businesses
We are proud to be doing our bit to support smaller businesses…
Being a small business, we are keen to do our bit to support other businesses. So whenever I can, I buy products and services from like minded people. Always with a nod to ethical & sustainable products, services and the people behind them.

Ratty Go Lightly
Firstly I met Laurie at Burgley Horse Trials, where she was part of the Friends of Joules Marketplace. I was instantly attracted to Laurie’s fantastic products, and when we started chatting it came to light that Laurie was from Suffolk – our stars were aligned.

Clara Castner
In this strange and spooky world, we have been virtual friends for a number of years. I fell in love with the organic way in which Clara works and admired her work from afar. In 2019 I managed to visit Clara at one of her events and was seduced by the beauty of her work. So much so I bought three vases and several Christmas decorations for friends and family.
My image really doesn’t to the work justice so pop over to www.claracastner.com to see her beautiful work .
& Keep
Having searched the internet relentlessly for tea and coffee canisters, I wanted something super stylish yet robust as accidents happen and I didn’t want glass. I stumbled across &keep. In the spirit of The Wood Store, I am making best effort to ethically source products and &keep ticked all of the boxes.

Hopping Hare Candles
-Clare and I have been friends for over 20 years, we first worked together and age ago when I was working for Orange and Claire worked for one of our agencies.
Claire was well known for her obsession for perfume and she always smelt so lovely – she is the master of perfume layering – something I had never heard of! Anyway, many years later, Claire realised her dream of working with smells! She has created her own business and developed a stunning range unique perfumes and a range of products from candles through to soaps.
We were lucky enough to be early adopters of Clare’s refillable candle made with essential oils -so I bought two! Which means we always have one on the go.

Koh
I was looking to have a kinder way to clean The Wood Store, yet would not compromise on the quality. Having tried several brands and products and found Koh on the internet, making huge claims. I read the reviews and looked at their customers results, it sounded just what I needed so made the leap and purchased the home starter kit when it was on offer – you can’t be too careful! They dont use harsh chemical – yet the level of cleaning is outstanding.
So far so good.
If you are interested in finding out more here is the link to their website: Koh – no affiliated link! Keep an eye out as they do have some great offers!
I have written this piece without payment or incentive from the companies involved – sharing the love.
